The Casita of Care: A Community Project with Heart
At We Love Construction, we believe that building is about more than structures. It is about people, connection, and creating spaces that uplift our community. One project that truly embodies this spirit is the HIVE Community Pantry, now lovingly known as the Casita of Care.
The Casita of Care began as a vision to create a welcoming, accessible space where individuals and families in our community could find essential items and support during difficult times. The project was built in honor of Brianna Crisel, a beloved friend whose life was tragically taken through intimate partner violence. Her memory and the love so many people have for her became a powerful inspiration behind the creation of this space. The Casita of Care stands not only as a place of support for the community but also as a tribute to Brianna’s life and a reminder of the importance of caring for one another.
Working alongside The HIVE Community Circle and an incredible network of volunteers, businesses, and donors, this small structure quickly became something much bigger than a construction project. It became a symbol of compassion and collaboration.
Our team was honored to contribute to the construction and transformation of the pantry space. From coordinating materials to bringing together skilled trades and community partners, every step of the project reflected the generosity of those involved. In total, we had the privilege of bringing together 26 additional local business partners who donated materials, labor, and expertise to bring the project to life. Their willingness to give back and work toward a shared purpose is what made this project truly special.
Today, the Casita of Care is officially open and serving the community. What once started as an idea has become a place where people can access food, hygiene items, and everyday necessities with dignity and support. More importantly, it is a reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose.
For us at We Love Construction, this project holds a special place in our hearts. It represents the power of building not just homes, but hope. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to making the Casita of Care a reality and proud to see it now serving those who need it most.
Sometimes the most meaningful things we build are not just structures, but spaces that strengthen the community around them!
